There’s something exciting swirling around the globe at the moment that hasn’t been present since 2008 when we were approaching the launch of the first Sex & The City Movie. I remember clearly as shooting began in New York, and photos of the four girls outfits started to appear in the media, the buzz was everywhere and the topic of most female conversations was about what Carrie & Co were wearing. Patricia Field (The Sex & The City Stylist) is one clever lady, putting combinations together you would never imagine in your wildest dreams, yet creating such absolute perfection that nothing since has come close.
With current fashion trends right now taking on an 80’s “influence”, I’m not surprised to see a little of that mix in with the girls new wardrobes, however the extent of these outfits does have me a little worried! While details of the story line have not yet been leaked to the media, I’m really hoping that some photos are from a memory flash back as I’m really not feeling excited about venturing back to huge permed hair and a fluoro colour palette!
There are other photos though that I’m completely loving, SJP’s Halston Heritage purple and silver pleated dress for one, and the white dress (pictured below) accessorised by the Solange Azagury-Partridge gemstone necklace (valued at approximately $198,200!) It's going to be an exciting few months watching the outfits unfold, with the movie due out in May 2010; we can pretty much start planning our wardrobes for next year! I don’t think I’ll be lashing out on that Azagury-Partridge necklace anytime soon but you can bet your bottom dollar that chain stores will be madly creating their own versions of everything we’re seeing pictured.
Welcome back girls!
