Oh…How I miss attending fashion event with my miss correspondent KO. Tonight we attended a Fashion, Art & Design Party at the Paul Hardy Atelier, hosted by famous Canadian fashion designer Paul Hardy himself. The evening consisted of artwork features from The Weiss Gallery, interior designs by industrial artist Cory Barkman, and last but not least, Fall 2011 fashion by Paul Hardy and a preview of his Spring 2012 collection.
For those who are unfamiliar with Paul Hardy, he is one of the most innovative Canadian fashion designers who'd placed Canada on a global map in the fashion industry. Early in his career, he was already compared to the likes of Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney. Over the last ten years, he'd made an astonishing achievement in fashion by offering the best Canadian designs via his exceptional talent. His work was described as "Oscar worthy" by celebrity stylist Philip Bloch and The New York Post , after showcasing in various fashion events held in cities like New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and Toronto. He was also praised by fashion magazines as the new rising star and one of the freshest new talent in the fashion world.
Paul Hardy Atelier on Kensington, in Calgary is one of Paul's free standing Paul Hardy store in Canada. I noticed a lot of neutral colors were displayed in the collection tonight. Many of the pieces were shown in Ombre, turquoise, and beige colours, in combination with some black and white work. The fine sewn details, shiny linings and patterns were elegant and very delicate. I especially love x3 this dress, which reminded me of McQueen, except that this piece took away that McQueen's eerie-ness, instead gave it something more "pure and innocent".

Paul was a busy guy tonight, everyone found their opportunity to mingle/catch-up with this talented man. I've seen Paul Hardy's work in numerous occasions, but this is in fact my first time meeting the designer in person. Though we only had a brief introduction and had minimal of time to converse tonight, I am sure I will meet him again in the near future. As I spoke with one of his assistants, I was actually thinking of asking Paul to custom one of his men's collection piece for me, or the Binzento Vincente blog.

Next week is the Vancouver Fashion Week. I can't wait to see some of the work there. I also wish my friend Daryl White of D.W, which will be showcasing his collection there, a successful fabulous show.

Finally, like to mention that blog tabs update are still on the way, I've been a busy bee over the last couple weeks. I am aiming to finish the blog tabs during the weekends! :) Stay-tuned!
