Sunday night was week 3 of the "Uptown 17 Fashion & Food" month. This week we have high scale fashion merchandise from Primitive Culture, showcasing at YYC new fancy Italian bistro Borgo Trattoria.
It was a complete full house. Authentic Italian cuisine is one of my favourites. Borgo, owned by the same owner who previously opened local famous restaurant Capo, certainly became one of the most talked about new restaurants in town. I'd been to Borgo couple times, and both occasions were pleasant experience.
Primitive put out a great show tonight. Subsequent to their appearance at the ARTwear 2011, Primitive again displayed the retro-inspired collection carried at their boutique. The funky-vintage x Aztec x bohemian style was the dominant feature of the night. With the addition of some interesting combinations of harem jeans, oversized textiles, multi-layers and leather/fur pieces, though not something we haven't seen before, it certainly was inspiring. The team behind these creative styles, Garret Naccarato, Leah Van Loon, Jordan Reimer and Lisa Freno did a fabulous job at the show.
JoJo Zolina
It was a pleasure to meet dance star JoJo Zolina, he captured many people's attention with his unique style. It was also great to see the Calgary Fashion crew at the scene and some of my favourite fashionisa KD (The Girl With The Messy Hair), Karolina (Karolina's Style), Polina (Polina Style), Jason Krell, Domingo Lumanog, Ania B, and Boy Josh. Honestly, one of the best Uptown 17 shows so far.
Be sure not to miss week 4 and the final Uptown 17 Fashion & Food in November next Sunday night: Leo Boutique @ Ox & Angela.
