What Causes Human Papilloma Cancer HPV

Life-or-death questions are being raised about Gardasil, an acidic vaccine touted to prevent a so-called infection of human papilloma virus (HPV), which can theoretically may cause cervical cancer. Merck & Co., Inc., the maker of Gardasil, staunchly defends its multi-billion dollar goldmine, stating on their website, “We are confident in the safety profile of GARDASIL.”

But Dr. Diane Harper, an obstetrician and gynecologist who helped Merck perform Gardasil’s clinical trials and who served on Merck’s advisory board for the vaccine, told CNN in an interview, “Gardasil is not without risks. It’s not a freebie.”

Since the approval of the vaccine by the FDA in 2006, health-care groups have shouted out warnings of danger, and have also said that Merck has energetically mass-marketed Gardasil with disregard both for known current side effects as well as for possible long-term side effects.

Here are some of the established acidic risks, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

Death. According to the CDC, more than 25 million doses of Gardasil have been distributed in the United States as of June 1, 2009, resulting in 43 deaths. Gardasil is the confirmed cause in 26 of those deaths, 9 are still being investigated, and 8 remain unconfirmed.

Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS). Cases of GBS, a peripheral neuropathy that can result in paralysis and death, have been reported to the CDC as a result of Gardasil vaccination.

Blood Clots. Clots occurring in the heart, lungs and legs have reportedly been triggered by this toxic acidic Gardasil.

About 40 percent of adverse effects occur on the day of vaccination. Approximately 14,000 reports have been made, with 93 percent considered by the CDC to be “non-serious,” and 7 percent to be “serious.”

What does the reporting of 14,000 incidents of side effects really mean? In an interview with Dr. Russell Blaylock, a nationally recognized neurosurgeon, health practitioner, and editor of The Blaylock Wellness Report, said, “Multiply the number of incidents actually reported by ten and you’ll get an accurate number.”

As to the effectiveness of Gardasil in the first place, Dr. Blaylock said, “The vaccine has never been proven to be effective, and by the time the vaccine would be needed to prevent cancer would be years later and the vaccine would be long gone from the system. If you have the organism already in your cervix, the vaccine actually increases the cervical cancer rate.”

In the light of such serious side effects, the cost/benefit ratio in terms of both lives and money must be weighed. And some frightening facts are emerging about Gardasil. In an ABC interview, Dr. Harper said, “Although the number of serious adverse events is small and rare, they are real and cannot be overlooked or dismissed without disclosing the possibility to all other possible vaccine recipients.” Dr. Harper then dropped what some consider to be a bombshell: “The rate of serious adverse events is greater than the incidence rate of cervical cancer.”

In other words the drug Gardasil causes the very thing it is trying to prevent. Why? Because it is just another toxic acidic drug from the pharmaceutical companies who cares more about profits then about human life.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration is currently pondering whether to approve the use of Gardasil on boys in order to protect their partners from cervical cancer. Last week, the FDA granted approval to allow GlaxoSmithKline’s new HPV vaccine called Cervarix to be sold in the United States.

HPV Vaccine Fact: “First, there are more than 100 different types of HPV and at least 15 of them are oncogenic [tending to cause tumors]. The current vaccines target only 2 oncogenic strains: HPV-16 and HPV-18. Second, the relationship between infection at a young age and development of cancer 20 to 40 years later is not known.”–Dr. Charlotte Haug in an editorial appearing in the August 19, 2009 Journal of the American Medical Association.

"Bottom line ALL so-called dis-ease and disease is caused by an over-acidification of the blood and tissues due to an inverted way of living, eating and thinking," states Dr. Robert O. Young, Director of the pH Miracle Living Center.

A different kind of inspiration: A Memoir of Mistakes, Magazines & Motherhood By Mia Freedman

Ok, so this post isn’t about frocks or celebrity fashion directly, however it does connect in a roundabout way, being on the subject of former Cosmo editor Mia Freedman and her book “A Memoir of Mistakes, Magazines and Motherhood” in which I’ve just had the pleasure of reading.

As far as inspiration goes (in which I regularly post about on the fashion front), when it comes to career and personal inspiration, Mia has for a long time been at the top of my list.

Mia became editor of Cosmopolitan at age 24 in 1996. I was 22 then and Cosmo was my fashion & entertainment Bible. Being a young mum with 2 daughters (under the age of 2), my magazines were a brief escape into another reality in the rare moments I would get to myself.

Mia mentions in her book her own obsession with magazines & early ambition to one day work for the magazines she loved. I had similar goals however at 22, living 5 hours away from any major city, with 2 babies and a husband pursuing his own career as a Professional Bodyboarder, any kind of magazine career was simply not an option. Instead I used spare time to teach myself graphic design, write, dabble in designing clothes & fantasise about an eventual career mixing some or all of these hobbies.

With out sounding too “stalkerish”, I followed Mia’s “magazine” life over the years with interest and admiration, reading her first book ‘The New Black’ while travelling around Australia with my husband and kids in a caravan. Between my stash of Sex & The City DVD’s and Mia’s first book, I had an occasional short escape, knowing in my heart that I would eventually pursue my own ambition, I was totally content for the time being.

Fast forward to 2009 and the release of “A Memoir of Mistakes, Magazines and Motherhood” in which Mia openly discusses the un-glamorous side of her life over the past 20 years, I am once again in awe of this talented lady, but for many different reasons than in the past.

My daughters are now teenagers (just) and my career involves everything I once imagined. I now have much more time for myself, but it’s still a never ending juggling act. Mia’s new book detailing her own experience of balancing motherhood, career, & relationship’s has me once again feeling encouraged & inspired, reminding me that no matter what path we take in life, we’re all riding the roller coaster that life takes us on a daily basis, and nobody no matter how glamorous on the outside has it perfect all the time.

In her memoir, Mia shares some very personal experiences and amazing accomplishments, happiest moments and deep insecurities. In a world where we are so bombarded by “The Celebrity” and the appearance of their perfect lives, perfect wardrobes and perfect careers, it’s such a refreshing gift to be given a glimpse into such an remarkable Australian women, and the fascinating yet honest story of her life so far.

I really admire Mia for being the role model she is to so many, while at the same time being able to share her own insecurities and chaotic reality, making you feel re-assured that your own life needn’t be perfect to be wonderful and fulfilled.

I could keep going on and on about Mia & her new book, instead I’ll cut it short and just say that in my opinion it’s a MUST to read. I will be keeping mine close & purchasing more as gifts for friends that I know will appreciate Mia's story as well.

Sex and The City 2

There’s something exciting swirling around the globe at the moment that hasn’t been present since 2008 when we were approaching the launch of the first Sex & The City Movie. I remember clearly as shooting began in New York, and photos of the four girls outfits started to appear in the media, the buzz was everywhere and the topic of most female conversations was about what Carrie & Co were wearing. Patricia Field (The Sex & The City Stylist) is one clever lady, putting combinations together you would never imagine in your wildest dreams, yet creating such absolute perfection that nothing since has come close.

With current fashion trends right now taking on an 80’s “influence”, I’m not surprised to see a little of that mix in with the girls new wardrobes, however the extent of these outfits does have me a little worried! While details of the story line have not yet been leaked to the media, I’m really hoping that some photos are from a memory flash back as I’m really not feeling excited about venturing back to huge permed hair and a fluoro colour palette!

There are other photos though that I’m completely loving, SJP’s Halston Heritage purple and silver pleated dress for one, and the white dress (pictured below) accessorised by the Solange Azagury-Partridge gemstone necklace (valued at approximately $198,200!) It's going to be an exciting few months watching the outfits unfold, with the movie due out in May 2010; we can pretty much start planning our wardrobes for next year! I don’t think I’ll be lashing out on that Azagury-Partridge necklace anytime soon but you can bet your bottom dollar that chain stores will be madly creating their own versions of everything we’re seeing pictured.

Welcome back girls!
